CROWD solutions for SDN-controlled SDR networks with D2D

Our collective white paper on 5G radio network architecture has been published in the RAS cluster website.
The white paper is an outcome of the Radio Access and Spectrum cluster projects funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme in the area of Future Networks. It presents a view from the European research community on the architecture aspects of 5G mobile and wireless communication systems.
A workshop for the dissemination of the project results is held at Intecs S.p.A. in the L'Aquila (Italy) facilities.
A tighter collaboration is envisioned between CROWD and GreenTouch, with a mission to deliver the architecture, specifications and roadmap to increase network energy efficiency by a factor of 1000 compared to 2010 levels.
A liaison workshop with experts from research projects CONTENT, CROWD, and SODALES, all funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), was held in Pisa on October 18, 2013 hosted by Nextworks.
Within the Future Networks 12th FP7 Concertation Meeting, held in Brussels on 23 October 2013, a panel session was held with distinguished speakers to provide an expert view on the important and timely topic of C-RAN technologies and standards as resulting from the respective European Commission co-funded R&D projects in which they are involved.
